Job Description

Job Title: Design Head, Project Business (Commercial Interiors)

Location: Pune

Experience: 2-12 years (at least 2-4 years leading a team)

Reports to: Business Head

About the Role

Lead the design team for commercial interior projects (corporate, retail, hospitality, institutional). You will own design quality, manage the team, and be the main design contact for clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Set the design direction and quality standards across projects

• Lead and mentor a team of designers, assign work, and track turnaround times (TAT)

• Work with Sales, Project Managers, Procurement, MEP, 3D and Site teams to deliver on schedule

• Review and approve drawings (GA, material boards, joinery details, GFC) before release

• Give timely estimates and BOMs within budget guidelines

• Handle clients from kickoff to handover, including presentations and feedback

• Oversee space planning, materials, FF&E, and detailing; visit sites to check design intent

• Ensure compliance with building codes, fire norms, accessibility (ADA) and sustainability standards

• Maintain templates, drawing formats, and material libraries

Must Have

• Bachelor's/Master's in Interior Design or Architecture (or equivalent, or Draughtsman)

• 2-12 years in commercial interior design, with 2-4 years in team leadership

• Experience leading medium to large commercial projects from concept to execution

• Strong knowledge of materials, detailing, MEP coordination, and site execution

• Working knowledge of Adobe Suite and MS Office (Revit preferred)

• Good written and spoken English, and strong client-handling skills

Good to Have

• Strong command of design software: AutoCAD and SketchUp

• Experience managing multiple projects at once

• Familiarity with Monday.com or Trello

• LEED/WELL certification or sustainable design experience
