Job Purpose (In one or two sentences)

The SME - IN provides domain expertise for Vi's Intelligent Network fault management within the SNOC, driving P1/P2 restoration through closed working squads, leading FM transformation and UAI reduction, and ensuring IN modernisation and capacity expansion are executed accurately as per corporate plan.

 

IN being the most important service critical technology domain with unparalleled focus of organization & going through rapid technological changes over the span of time, FM IN is one of the most essential functions working across domains to achieve SNOC objectives of:

• Maximize Service and Network availability.
• Enhance customer experience

 

To achieve the objective, SME IN needs to

• Provide expert level support for the critical incidents happening in the network.

• Capability to support emergency situation and handle at least 50% of issues internally without raising OEM

• Ensure Corrective and Preventive actions through problem management.
• Conserve and disseminate Knowledge acquired.
• In depth technical discussion with vendor experts to bring the solution & implement effectively

 

 

Key Accountabilities / Key Result Areas (Max 5)

 

• Govern & execute IN capacity expansion, SW version upgrades, IN modernisation, and new services implementation as per plan.
• Ensure SNOC tool and process readiness for new IN node implementations within defined hours of go-live.
• Drive FNI accuracy and ICP/EP/patch upgrade execution within planned timelines and quality standards.
• Drive P1/P2 fault restoration within SLA through structured closed working squad engagement and expert intervention.
• Lead work-order and ticket discipline ensuring all field actions and NOC activities are captured in the system.
• Govern communication and escalation model ensuring structured stakeholder notifications within defined timelines.
• Drive UAI system establishment to enable near-real-time actionable incident identification across the IN domain.
• Lead ticket, UAI, and alarm count reduction through structured FM transformation and automation activities.

 

Managerial

• Lead capability development and skill building of the IN team including Cloud & IP competency growth.
• Ensure zero HSW incidents and promote safe working practices across all team members.
• Drive SOP adherence and structured process compliance across all team fault management activities.

Professional Qualifications

• An engineering graduate in Electronics and Communication with 10+ years of telecom experience in Intelligent Network SME operations within a SNOC or NOC environment.
• Cloud certification preferred
