Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems, material handling equipment, manipulators, conveyors, lifting equipment, and special-purpose machines (SPMs).
- Prepare detailed 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Perform engineering calculations, load analysis, component selection, and design validation.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible, cost-effective, safe, and suitable for manufacturing.
- Review customer requirements and develop suitable engineering concepts and solutions.
- Coordinate with production, purchase, electrical, and project teams for smooth execution.
- Resolve design-related issues during manufacturing, assembly, installation, and commissioning.
- Review drawings, guide junior design engineers, and ensure timely completion of design deliverables.
- Maintain proper design documentation, revisions, and drawing records.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years in mechanical design, preferably in material handling equipment, industrial automation, or SPM manufacturing.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Good knowledge of GD&T, manufacturing processes, fabrication, machining, and assembly.
- Experience in mechanical design calculations, structural design, and component selection.
- Ability to independently handle design projects from concept to manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving, technical coordination, and team management skills.
