## Service Engineer – Electrical

**Designation:** Service Engineer – Electrical

**Location:** Pune / Site Visits

**Reporting To:** Service Manager / Factory Manager

**Employment Type:** Full-Time

### 1. Job Summary

We are looking for a technically competent **Service Engineer – Electrical** with a strong **Electrical Engineering background and practical knowledge of Lead-Acid Batteries**.

The candidate will be responsible for installation, commissioning, servicing, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and regeneration-related activities of batteries and battery regeneration equipment at customer sites.

The candidate should be comfortable with field visits, electrical measurements, battery testing, fault diagnosis, and preparation of service reports.

### 2. Educational Qualification

* Diploma / B.Tech in **Electrical / Electrical & Electronics Engineering**.

* ITI Electrical candidates with relevant field experience may also be considered.

* Certification or training in battery technology will be an added advantage.

### 3. Required Experience

* **1–4 years** of experience in Electrical Service / Maintenance / Field Service.

* Experience with **Lead-Acid Batteries, UPS, Inverters, Battery Banks or Battery Testing** will be preferred.

* Freshers with strong technical knowledge and willingness to travel may also be considered.

### 4. Essential Technical Knowledge

The candidate **must have knowledge of Lead-Acid Batteries**, including:

* Understanding of Lead-Acid battery construction and working.

* Knowledge of battery types such as **Tubular, SMF/VRLA and Flooded Lead-Acid Batteries**.

* Battery voltage, capacity (Ah), charging and discharging principles.

* Battery bank configuration and series/parallel connections.

* Battery terminal voltage and load voltage measurement.

* Understanding of **battery health, capacity and performance testing**.

* Knowledge of battery charging parameters and charging systems.

* Identification of common battery faults and failure conditions.

* Knowledge of battery sulphation, plate condition and electrolyte-related issues.

* Basic understanding of battery regeneration / reconditioning processes.

* Safe handling, testing and maintenance of Lead-Acid Batteries.

### 5. Electrical Skills

* Strong knowledge of basic electrical and electronic systems.

* Ability to read electrical wiring diagrams and circuit diagrams.

* Knowledge of AC and DC systems.

* Ability to use a **Multimeter, Clamp Meter, Battery Tester, Load Tester and other electrical testing instruments**.

* Electrical fault finding and troubleshooting.

* Knowledge of voltage, current, resistance and continuity testing.

* Basic knowledge of control panels, SMPS, relays, contactors, MCBs, cables and connectors.

* Ability to identify electrical and wiring-related faults in equipment.

### 6. Key Responsibilities

#### A. Installation & Commissioning

* Installation and commissioning of battery regeneration equipment and related electrical systems.

* Installation and testing of battery banks at customer locations.

* Check electrical connections, polarity, voltage and current before commissioning.

* Ensure equipment is installed as per company specifications and safety standards.

#### B. Service & Maintenance

* Attend customer service calls and site complaints.

* Diagnose electrical and battery-related problems.

* Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance.

* Conduct battery testing and health assessment.

* Perform battery regeneration/reconditioning activities as per company SOP.

* Ensure proper operation of battery regeneration machines and accessories.

#### C. Testing & Troubleshooting

* Perform battery voltage and load testing.

* Identify weak, faulty or damaged batteries.

* Record test results accurately.

* Troubleshoot electrical, wiring and equipment-related issues.

* Escalate major technical problems to the Service Manager / Technical Team.

#### D. Customer Support

* Visit customer sites as required.

* Explain basic battery maintenance and operating procedures to customers.

* Provide technical guidance regarding battery usage and maintenance.

* Maintain professional communication with customers.

* Ensure customer complaints are attended to within the assigned timeline.

#### E. Documentation & Reporting

* Prepare daily service/visit reports.

* Maintain battery testing and regeneration records.

* Prepare installation and commissioning reports.

* Maintain service call records and job cards.

* Submit required photographs, test readings and technical observations.

* Update the Service Manager regarding site status and pending issues.

### 7. Safety Responsibilities

* Follow all electrical and battery safety procedures.

* Use appropriate PPE while working with batteries and electrical equipment.

* Follow safe practices while handling Lead-Acid Batteries and electrolyte.

* Ensure correct polarity and electrical connections before energizing equipment.

* Maintain a clean and safe working area at customer sites.

* Immediately report unsafe conditions or major technical hazards.

### 8. Field Travel

* Willingness to travel to customer sites is **mandatory**.

* Travel may be required within Maharashtra and other states depending on business requirements.

* Candidate should be comfortable working at industrial, commercial and customer locations.

### 13. Reporting

The Service Engineer will report to the **Service Manager / Factory Manager** and coordinate with the Technical, Production and Customer Support teams as required.
