Job Description
Captain: Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the service team (stewards, waiters and runners) on the floor
- Welcome guests warmly, seat them and present the menu
- Take orders accurately and suggest dishes, specials and add-ons to increase sales
- Coordinate with the kitchen, bar and cashier so orders flow smoothly
- Ensure food and beverages are served on time and at the right standard
- Monitor tables during service and respond quickly to guest needs
- Handle guest feedback and complaints politely and resolve them on the spot
- Brief the team before each shift on menu items, specials and targets
- Maintain cleanliness, table setup and hygiene standards as per FSSAI norms
- Assist with billing, reservations, stock checks and closing duties
