Accountant/ Accounts Executive

1. Job Responsibilities

• Maintain day-to-day bookkeeping and accounting records for UK-based clients.
• Process sales and purchase invoices, bank transactions, receipts, payments, and expense entries.
• Perform bank, supplier, customer, and control account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review VAT returns in accordance with UK VAT regulations.
• Assist in preparation of quarterly management accounts, year-end accounts, and financial statements.
• Handle month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and other necessary adjustments.
• Prepare schedules and supporting documentation for finalisation of accounts and statutory filings.
• Liaise with UK clients and senior team members to resolve accounting and VAT-related queries.
• Ensure timely completion of assignments while maintaining accuracy and compliance with applicable UK accounting standards and tax regulations.

2.Required Skills & Qualifications

• Graduate in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance; relevant professional qualifications are an advantage.
• Practical experience in UK bookkeeping, VAT returns, and final accounts preparation.
• Knowledge of UK VAT rules, including standard-rated, zero-rated, exempt, and reverse-charge transactions.
• Familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, CCH or similar.
• Good understanding of bank reconciliations, trial balance, profit and loss accounts, and balance sheets.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and accounting documentation.
• Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with UK clients.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to meet deadlines.

3.Preferred Experience

• Experience working with UK accounting or CA firms, outsourcing firms, or UK-based clients.
• Exposure to VAT reconciliations, management accounts, and year-end accounts finalisation.
• Familiarity with UK GAAP, FRS 102/FRS 105, and Companies House filing requirements.
