Job Description
Job Summary
The Service Advisor is the primary point of contact between the customer and the service workshop. They receive vehicles, understand customer complaints, prepare accurate job cards, coordinate with technicians, and ensure timely, high-quality service delivery while maximizing customer satisfaction and workshop revenue.
Main Responsibilities & Tasks
Customer interaction
- Greet customers at reception, listen to and record their complaints and service requirements clearly
- Conduct pre-service vehicle inspection with the customer and note existing damage/condition
- Explain the required work, estimated cost, and expected delivery time before starting
Job card & estimation
- Open accurate job cards capturing customer details, vehicle details, complaints, and requested/recommended work
- Prepare cost estimates for labour, parts, and consumables; obtain customer approval before commencing work
- Get approval afresh for any additional work identified during service
Workshop coordination
- Allocate jobs to technicians and follow up on work progress against promised delivery time
- Coordinate with the spare parts department for availability of required parts
- Monitor job status and inform customers proactively of any delays or extra work
