Summary:
As a SAP MM Business Architect, a typical day involves leading end-to-end solution architecture and delivery for SAP MM and Procure-to-Pay processes by evaluating business requirements and defining scalable, sustainable solutions. This role requires collaborating with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to design and govern procurement and materials management processes aligned with organizational goals. The SAP MM Business Architect translates complex business needs into SAP-driven solutions and operational frameworks. Additionally, the role supports transformational efforts by leading business process workshops, fit-gap analysis, solution design, testing, deployment, and hypercare activities, while providing guidance throughout the implementation of critical initiatives, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and fostering continuous improvement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Expected to provide solutions to problems that apply across multiple teams.
- Lead cross-functional collaboration to ensure alignment of business strategies and technology solutions.
- Facilitate communication between business units and technical teams to drive project success.
- Drive business process transformation workshops and recommend SAP best practices.
- Lead end-to-end solution architecture and delivery for SAP MM and Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Lead fit-gap analysis, solution design, testing strategy, deployment, and hypercare support.
- Mentor functional consultants and junior team members to support their professional growth and enhance Team capabilities.
- Support solutioning, estimation, client presentations, RFP responses, and business case development.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in SAP MM Materials Management.
- Strong knowledge of SAP S/4HANA Procurement, Inventory Management, and Invoice Verification.
- Strong knowledge of end-to-end Source-to-Pay and Procure-to-Pay processes.
- Experience in designing and implementing business processes related to materials management and procurement.
- Ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into effective system configurations.
- Familiarity with integration points between materials management and other business functions such as finance and supply chain.
- Working knowledge of SAP Ariba, SAP Fieldglass, OpenText VIM, and SAP Business Network.
- Experience with SAP Business Network and CIG integrations.
- Experience in SAP S/4HANA Greenfield/Brownfield implementation.
- Exposure to AI/ML, Generative AI, or Intelligent Automation use cases within Procurement, Supply Chain, or ERP transformation programs.
- Ability to identify and implement AI-enabled opportunities such as procurement analytics, supplier risk monitoring, intelligent invoice processing, contract and document intelligence, conversational AI, and predictive procurement.
- Ability to evaluate emerging AI capabilities from SAP such as Joule and Business AI and assess business value.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering scalable and sustainable solutions.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 12 years of experience in SAP MM Materials Management.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
- MBA / Masters degree in Management or Bachelors / Master s degree is preferred.
