Job Description Summary:

Conducts a wide range of quality-control tests and analyses to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and end-user requirements. Executes tests according to established plans & scripts, logs problems, retests software corrections. Creates test data files with valid and invalid records, drafts and revises test plans and scripts. Creates and executes automation scripts.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in test planning

• Create test cases

• Execute pre-defined test cases and document results

• Report and track basic software bugs under supervision

• Assist in maintaining a QA environment

• Perform initial verification of bug fixes

• Support the preparation of test data

• Assist in the documentation and reporting of testing processes

• Participate in team meetings and training sessions

• Develop a basic understanding of the software being tested

• Liaise with developers for bug resolution

• Follow standard QA practices and methodologies

Skills:

• Has computer science background with programming experience through coursework or internship

• Attention to Detail: Ability to notice and document defects

• Basic Test Case Execution: Understanding of how to execute and document test cases

• Bug Reporting Tools: Familiarity with tools like JIRA or Bugzilla

• Communication: Clear written and verbal skills to report bugs and test results

• Basic Software Understanding: Introductory knowledge of the software under test

• Time Management: Ability to complete assigned tasks within deadlines

• Basic Documentation: Skills to document test results and bugs correctly

• Collaboration: Work effectively within a team setup
