Associate Manager - EHS
Responsibilities
Strategic Roles & Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with OISD Standards, PESO regulations, Factories Act provisions, Petroleum Rules, and applicable
statutory requirements.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and identify unsafe acts/unsafe conditions.
- Ensure strict implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Monitor compliance with SOPs, SMPs, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Conduct Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Hazard Identification & Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Ensure compliance with Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- Monitor confined space entry, Hot work, height work, excavation and other critical activities & ensure all the associated hazards reviewed & control measures are in place.
- Facilitate implementation of Behaviour Based Safety (BBS) initiatives.
- Daily briefing to supervisors and check their grooming.
- Quickly and effectively analyze hazardous situations and take appropriate course of action
- Conduct periodic emergency mock drills and evaluate response effectiveness.
- Organize trainings in firefighting, emergency medical care, disaster response and specialized rescue scenarios
- Coordinate internal and external safety audits as per statutory guidelines.
- Ensure smooth and safe movement of vehicles as well as manpower.
- Ensure & arrange of Third inspection certification of all tools tackles & equipment as per statutory requirements.
- Monitor operation of OWS, STP and waste management systems & maintain records.
- Ensure contractor manpower complies with PPE and safety requirements.
- Organize toolbox talks and monthly safety committee meetings.
Responsible for general maintenance work of fire equipment and facilities.
- Ensure working condition of fire and safety equipment 24 X7.
- Be fully aware of the emergency procedure as defined in the manual and act accordingly during an emergency
- Ensure fitness of fire safety equipment.
- Impart training to all employees pertaining to POL terminal hazardous.
- Ensure emergency equipment inspection and testing schedules are followed.
- Provide emergency medical care within scope of practice.
- Monitor water consumption, energy usage and environmental KPIs.
Qualifications
Education Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering and PG Diploma in Industrial Safety/ B Tech in Fire Safety
Work Experience (Range of years):
3 -10 years of relevant experience with same field
