CUTTING OPERATOR – MODULAR FURNITURE FACTORY

Position: Cutting Operator

Job Responsibilities

● Operate Panel Saw / Cutting Machine for modular furniture production.

● Read and understand cut lists, drawings, dimensions and cutting instructions.

● Accurately cut plywood, MDF, particle board and other modular furniture boards as per required sizes.

● Check length, width and quantity before and after cutting.

● Ensure minimum material wastage and proper sheet utilization.

● Mark and identify cut pieces according to the project/order.

● Maintain proper sequence of cutting based on the production plan.

● Coordinate with the Production Supervisor, Boring Operator, Edge Banding Operator and Site Team.

● Check machine settings, blade condition and cutting accuracy before production.

● Report any machine problem, abnormal cutting, blade issue or measurement mismatch immediately.

● Keep the cutting area clean, organised and safe.

● Handle boards and finished cut pieces carefully to prevent damage.

● Follow factory safety rules, production targets and quality standards.

● Maintain daily production/cutting records as instructed by the supervisor.

● Avoid unnecessary material wastage and re-cutting.

● Support other production activities when required.

Required Skills

● Experience operating a Panel Saw / Board Cutting Machine.

● Good understanding of modular furniture board sizes and cutting measurements.

● Ability to work accurately with a measuring tape and basic measuring tools.

● Ability to understand basic drawings and cut lists.

● Knowledge of plywood, MDF, particle board, laminate and modular furniture components is preferred.

● Basic knowledge of machine maintenance and safety.

● Good discipline and punctuality.

● Ability to work as part of a production team.

Experience

Preferred: 1–3 years of experience in modular furniture / interior furniture factory production.

Experienced candidates with strong panel-saw cutting skills can also be considered.
