Job Description
The Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing day-to-day accounting activities, monitoring hospital transactions, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with applicable accounting and statutory requirements.
- Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain daily accounting records and financial transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, bank, purchase, sales, receipts, and payment entries.
- Prepare and maintain invoices, bills, vouchers, receipts, and supporting documents.
- Perform daily reconciliation of cash and bank transactions.
- Monitor hospital income, expenses, collections, and outstanding payments.
- Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records.
- Verify bills and supporting documents before processing payments.
- Coordinate with the Pharmacy, Reception, Purchase, HR, and other departments regarding financial transactions.
- Prepare monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Assist in preparation of Profit & Loss Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement, and MIS reports.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of all financial records.
- Handle GST, TDS, PF, ESIC, and other statutory accounting requirements as applicable.
- Coordinate with auditors and provide required financial records and documents.
- Ensure timely submission of statutory returns and compliance-related documents.
- Monitor staff advances, vendor payments, reimbursements, and outstanding balances.
- Track hospital expenses and identify discrepancies or unusual transactions.
- Ensure confidentiality of all financial and salary-related information.
- Support management during audits, financial reviews, and inspections.
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly accounts reports as required by management.
- Perform any other accounts-related duties assigned by the Management / CAO.
- Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of accounting principles and bookkeeping.
- Proficiency in Tally / accounting software and MS Excel.
- Knowledge of GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
- Good numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Educational QualificationB.Com / M.Com / equivalent qualification in Finance or Accounting.
- Relevant accounting certification will be an added advantage.
- Experience2–5 years of relevant experience in accounting.
- Experience in a hospital / healthcare organization will be preferred.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)Accuracy of accounting entries.
- Timely completion of daily accounting activities.
- Timely bank and cash reconciliation.
- Timely submission of statutory compliances.
- Accuracy of financial reports and MIS.
- Proper documentation and record maintenance.
- Reduction of accounting discrepancies.
- Timely closure of monthly accounts.
- Effective monitoring of receivables and payables.
Confidentiality & ComplianceThe employee must maintain strict confidentiality of hospital financial information, salary details, vendor information, patient-related financial records, and other confidential organizational information. All hospital policies, SOPs, protocols, and instructions issued by Management and HR must be followed strictly.
