Operations Executive

In the express logistics and courier industry, an Operations Executive based in Assam acts as the critical linchpin for the entire Northeast region. Because Guwahati serves as the principal Gateway to the Seven Sister States and Sikkim, an operations professional here manages not only standard hub workflows but also unique regional transit complexities.

​Core Roles & Responsibilities​1. Hub & Sorting Center Operations

• ​Inbound & Outbound Processing: Supervise daily unloading, barcode scanning, bag opening, sorting, and manifest generation using internal transport management systems (TMS).
• ​Connection Adherence (TAT & SLA): Ensure outbound bags are connected to designated Linehaul trucks, feeder vehicles, or airport cargo terminals (LGBI Airport, Borjhar) before cut-off schedules.

• ​Discrepancy & Loss Prevention: Reconcile short/excess/damaged (SED) parcels on the floor. Conduct weight verification and volumetric auditing to prevent revenue leakage.

​2. Linehaul & Fleet Movement

• ​Feeder Route Scheduling: Monitor dedicated linehaul movement along arterial corridors.
• ​Vehicle Utilization: Optimize truck volumetric fill rates (cubic capacity utilization) for both heavy cargo and e-commerce parcels heading into the hill sectors.
• ​Tracking & Escalations: Handle transit delay contingencies, GPS deviations, breakdowns, and driver coordination.

​3. Delivery Center (DC) & Last-Mile Management

• ​Rider & Route Allocation: Oversee delivery associate (DA) route density, ensuring realistic runs based on local terrain and urban bottlenecks.
• ​Cash-on-Delivery (COD) & Run-Sheet Reconciliation: Audit daily field collections, ensuring prompt cash deposition and minimal remittance discrepancies.
• ​RTO (Return to Origin) & NDR Management: Action Non-Delivery Reports on day zero to prevent unnecessary returns, which carry exceptionally high freight costs in hilly destinations.
