Electrical Engineer – Roles and Responsibilities

To plan, execute, supervise, and monitor electrical projects and installations, ensuring compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, safety standards, quality requirements, and project schedules.

Plan and coordinate electrical installation activities at project sites.

Ensure execution of work according to approved drawings, BOQs, and specifications.

Monitor project progress and ensure timely completion of assigned activities.

Coordinate with civil, mechanical, and other contractors to avoid work delays.

Identify site-related issues and provide practical engineering solutions.

B. Technical Responsibilities

Read, interpret, and implement electrical single-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings.

Supervise installation of electrical panels, transformers, cables, cable trays, conduits, and earthing systems.

Ensure proper installation of lighting, power distribution, and electrical equipment.

Verify cable sizing, routing, termination, and equipment connections.

Assist in preparing electrical drawings, load schedules, and technical documentation.

Prepare material requirements based on BOQs and site progress.

Coordinate with the procurement team for timely material availability.

Verify materials received at site against purchase orders and delivery challans.

Maintain records of material consumption, stock, and wastage.

Ensure proper storage and handling of electrical materials.

Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Conduct toolbox talks and safety briefings.

Identify electrical hazards and implement preventive measures.

Maintain daily site progress reports.

Prepare material requisitions and work completion reports.

Maintain updated drawings and site records.

Report project delays, technical issues, and material shortages to management.

Coordinate with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal departments.

Attend site meetings and provide technical updates.

Address client queries and resolve site-level

Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Knowledge of electrical installations, distribution systems, and control panels.

Ability to read electrical drawings and BOQs.

Knowledge of electrical testing, commissioning, and safety practices.

Strong site supervision, coordination, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Office is preferred.

Experience in electrical contracting and project execution is an advantage.
