Graphic Designer

We are looking for an experienced Graphic Designer with strong knowledge of print production, packaging artwork, and prepress. The candidate should be able to independently create layouts, calculate sizes, prepare keylines/dielines, and make final print-ready artwork for wedding cards, boxes, bags, envelopes, inserts, and other printed products.

• Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and prepare artwork for Wedding Cards, Invitation Inserts, Envelopes, Boxes, Gift Boxes, Sweet Boxes, Dry Fruit Boxes, Paper Bags, Shagun Envelopes, Packaging and other printed products.
• Understand product requirements and independently calculate the correct open size, finished size, flap size, folding size and pasting area.
• Create accurate Keylines / Dielines for boxes, bags, envelopes and other packaging products.
• Prepare complete layouts according to product size and production requirements.
• Create attractive designs while keeping actual printing and manufacturing feasibility in mind.
• Prepare final print-ready artwork for Offset Printing and Digital Printing.
• Set proper Bleed, Cutting Marks, Creasing Lines, Folding Lines, Safe Area and Pasting Area.
• Prepare separate artwork/layers for:

• Spot UV / Crystal UV
• Embossing
• Debossing
• Die Cutting
• Creasing
• Lamination requirements
• Check artwork thoroughly before releasing it for production.
• Ensure all images and graphics are of suitable print quality and resolution.
• Convert and manage artwork correctly in CMYK colour mode.
• Check fonts, linked images, outlines, colour values and other technical issues before final output.
• Prepare final files in the required formats such as CDR, AI, PDF, TIFF, JPG etc.
• Make corrections in customer-provided files and make them production-ready.
• Recreate or modify designs received in JPG/PDF/reference format whenever required.
• Make layouts according to different paper and sheet sizes to reduce wastage.
• Understand how many products can be produced from a particular sheet size and prepare layouts accordingly.
• Coordinate with Production, Printing, Foiling, UV, Die Cutting and Packaging teams regarding artwork requirements.
• Make necessary artwork corrections based on production feedback.
• Maintain proper file naming, version control and organized artwork folders.
• Maintain design and artwork records for repeat orders.
• Create colour variations and design variations when required.

Packaging & Production SkillsCandidate should be able to understand the construction of products such as:

• Folding Cartons
• Rigid Boxes
• Sweet & Dry Fruit Boxes
• Invitation Boxes
• Paper Bags
• Envelopes
• Wedding Card Jackets / Pockets
• Inserts and Sleeves

Candidate should be able to visualize how a 2D keyline will convert into the final 3D product.

Colour & Design SenseStrong colour knowledge will be highly preferred.

Candidate should have:

• Good understanding of colour combinations.
• Ability to select colours suitable for wedding and premium packaging products.
• Understanding of how colours appear differently on different papers and printing processes.
• Good typography and font-selection skills.
• Good sense of composition, spacing and alignment.
• Ability to create premium and elegant layouts.
• Ability to understand customer references and develop suitable designs.
• Additional Skills PreferredBasic understanding of Prepress.
• Knowledge of print-production limitations.
• Understanding of foil block and die requirements.
• Understanding of paper, duplex board, art paper and specialty papers.
• Ability to calculate and optimize artwork according to available sheet size.
• Basic understanding of printing cost and material wastage will be an advantage.
• Experience working with a Printing Press, Packaging Company, Wedding Card Manufacturer or Offset Printing Company will be highly preferred.
• Ability to work on multiple jobs and meet production deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Candidate ProfileCreative as well as technically strong.
• Candidate should not be limited to only social-media or digital designing.
• Must have practical knowledge of print artwork and production files.
• Should be capable of taking a job from customer requirement → size calculation → layout → keyline → designing → final production-ready artwork.
• Should be comfortable coordinating with printing and production departments.
• Should take responsibility for checking artwork before it goes into production.

QualificationGraduate / Diploma / Certificate in Graphic Designing, Printing, Packaging or related field preferred.

Experience2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.

Experience in Wedding Cards, Printing, Packaging, Paper Bags, Boxes, Offset Printing or Prepress will be given preference.
