Production Engineer

We are looking for an experienced and result-oriented Production Planning Engineer to manage production planning, scheduling, material coordination, and shop-floor activities. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely production and dispatch of hydraulic cylinders, couplers, and other engineering components while maintaining quality standards and optimum utilization of manpower and machines.

Key Responsibilities

1. Production Planning & Scheduling

• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly production plans based on customer orders and delivery commitments.
• Schedule production activities for CNC, VMC, machining, assembly, testing, and dispatch.
• Monitor production progress and ensure timely completion of orders.
• Coordinate with the production team to minimize machine idle time and production delays.
• Identify bottlenecks and implement corrective actions.

2. Material Planning & Inventory Control

• Coordinate with the purchase and stores departments to ensure the timely availability of raw materials, bought-out components, and consumables.
• Prepare material requirement plans based on production schedules and BOMs.
• Monitor inventory levels and avoid material shortages and excess stock.
• Follow up on pending materials and outsourced operations.

3. Shop-Floor Coordination

• Coordinate with CNC/VMC operators, machinists, assembly technicians, quality, stores, and purchase teams.
• Track work orders and job progress at every production stage.
• Ensure proper utilization of manpower, machines, and other resources.
• Monitor work-in-progress (WIP) and prioritize urgent customer orders.

4. Production Monitoring & Reporting

• Maintain daily production reports, pending order reports, and dispatch schedules.
• Track planned versus actual production and analyze deviations.
• Prepare MIS reports related to production, machine utilization, and delivery performance.
• Maintain production planning records and ensure accurate data entry.

5. Quality & Delivery Management

• Coordinate with the quality department to ensure products meet specifications and inspection requirements.
• Ensure production targets are achieved without compromising quality.
• Support corrective actions for rejections, rework, and recurring production issues.
• Coordinate with the dispatch team to meet customer delivery commitments.
