Purchase Manager

• Purchase Manager – Job ResponsibilitiesManage the complete purchase and procurement activities of the company.
• Purchase raw materials such as cement, fly ash, crush sand, M-sand, 6mm/10mm aggregates, chemicals, concrete additives, colours and other production materials.
• Procure packing materials, consumables, spare parts, tools, machinery-related items, diesel and other operational requirements.
• Identify and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Collect quotations from suppliers and compare price, quality and delivery terms.
• Negotiate with suppliers to get the best possible rates and terms.
• Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) after approval from management.
• Follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials as per production requirements.
• Coordinate with the Production and Store teams regarding material requirements.
• Monitor raw-material stock levels and arrange timely purchases to avoid production stoppages.
• Check the quantity and quality of materials received and coordinate with the Store/Quality team in case of any discrepancy.
• Handle supplier complaints, material shortages, quality issues, rejection and replacement.
• Regularly check market prices of cement, aggregates, sand, diesel and other raw materials.
• Develop alternative suppliers to ensure continuous material availability and competitive pricing.
• Maintain good relationships with existing suppliers and develop new vendor relationships.
• Maintain proper records of suppliers, quotations, purchase orders, rates and delivery schedules.
• Prepare regular purchase reports and procurement MIS for management.
• Work towards cost reduction and improving purchase efficiency.
• Ensure materials are procured as per required quality, quantity, rate and delivery schedule.
• Handle urgent purchase requirements and coordinate with suppliers for quick delivery.
• Required Skills & QualificationsGraduate in B.Com / BBA / Supply Chain / Procurement or related field preferred.
• 3–7 years of experience in Purchase/Procurement preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing, construction or building-material industry will be an advantage.
• Good knowledge of raw-material procurement and vendor management.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel.
• Good understanding of inventory and material planning.
• Strong supplier follow-up and coordination skills.
• Ability to compare quotations and make cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Good market knowledge and ability to identify new suppliers and better rates.
• Should be responsible, honest and result-oriented.
• Should be able to work independently and handle multiple purchase requirements.

Key RequirementThe candidate should be capable of independently handling the complete purchase cycle — material requirement, supplier identification, quotation collection, rate negotiation, PO preparation, material quality/quantity coordination and delivery follow-up.
